RE: RAUSCHENBERG, an exhibition that will open on May 6 at Marcel Sitcoske Gallery in San Francisco, will coincide with the presentation of the recent Rauschenberg acquisitions at SFMOMA, and will examine the extraordinary influence that Rauschenberg’s work has had on contemporary practice and visual culture.

Works by established artists (Jessica Stockholder, James Hyde, Jack Pierson, Lydia Dona) and by emerging artists (Joe Sola, John Kalymnios, Germaine Koh) speak to issues of the everyday, transmission and transformation, and hybridity. Their studio and post-studio practices can be linked to Rauschenberg’s cultivation of an encyclopedic process of inclusion, erasure, and overlay through formal rigor and serendipity.

Artists Include:
NANCY CHUNN
DAVID CLARKSON
LYDIA DONA
JAMES ESBER
JAMES HYDE
JOHN KALYMNIOS
GERMAINE KOH
JUDY LINN
JACK PIERSON
JOE SOLA
JESSICA STOCKHOLDER
PAOLA RUBY WEINTRAUB
